Regina Vitti-Lyons has two sons and a daughter ages 5 to 9. She was on bed rest with both of her boys. With her oldest she had placenta previa and spent 6 weeks on bed rest - 2 at home and 4 in the hospital - before delivering the baby via c-section at 36 weeks. With her youngest she had placenta previa and placenta accreta. She spent 5 weeks on bed rest in the hospital before having a c-section/hysterectomy at 34 weeks. She spent a week in the hospital recovering and the baby spent three weeks in the NICU. She is a freelance writer and independent contractor and is working with Kathie on the book Bed Rest is Hell.
Kathie Shoop has two healthy children - a son, 5, and a daughter, 4 - both of whom were born prematurely. Though her son was born too fast to stop labor, she spent time in the hospital on bed rest with her daughter. Both of her children spent time in the NICU.
